Conditional sentence

A Conditional Sentence Type

             Conditional Sentence adalah kalimat bersyarat atau sering juga disebut dengan kalimat pengandaian. Kalimat Pengandaian maksudnya kalimat yang digunakan untuk mengandai-andai akan suatu kegiatan atau tindakan apabila syaratnya terpenuhi. Namun, pengandaiannya dapat saja terjadi atau tidak dapat terjadi tergantung dari syarat yang diajukannya.
Conditional Sentence type 1
Conditional Sentence type 1 (Real Situation) is to indicate that imaginary idea or activity (condition) may actually happen in the future.
Pattern :
If + present tense, future tense

Example :
1.      If you eat a lotyou will be overweight.
   If – clause                main – clause
2.      If I find his addressI will send him am invitation card.
   If – clause                            main - clause  

If – clause       = if + simple present
Main – clause  = will – future


Conditional Sentence type 2
Pattern :
If + simple past, S + (would, should, could, might) + V1

Example :
1.      If I had a lot of moneyI would buy a new house.
  If – clause                                   main – clause
2.      If I were bird, I would fly a round the world
  If – clause                       main – clause

If – clause             = if + simple past (V2)
Main – clause        = would + invinitive (V1)      

Conditional Sentence type 3
Pattern :
If + Past perfect + O, S + would + have + V3

Example :
1.      If I had studied hard last nightI would have passed the exam.
  If – clause                                   main – clause
2.      If I had been himI would have studied to singapura.
  If – clause                       main – clause

If – clause             = if + past perfect (had + V3)
Main – clause        = would + have + past participle (V3)           

Questions Conditional Sentence type 1
1.      If he comes (come), we will give (give) him these books
2.      We will leave (leave) as soon as he finishes (finish) his coffe
3.      If we decide (decide) to come, we will write (write) you a letter

Questions Conditional Sentence type 2
1.      If you did (do) this test well, you would get (get) a good mark
2.      Silvi wouldn’t buy (buy,not) the bike, if it were (be) very expensive
3.      Dita would go (go) shopping, if she had (have) time tomorrow

Questions Conditional Sentence type 3
1.      could have done (do) that job, if he had given (give) command
could have gone (go) to Los Angels, if it had been (be) summer
